Everybody is becoming more aware of the environmental impact our waste and ignorance is having on our planet, which is why we need to do something about it. You can do something about it. If you want an eco friendly move, follow these steps and you can indeed have one.

1. Give away to friends
If you have things you no longer need or want to keep, why not give it away to friends? They might even do you the great favour in returning help. For instance, help with moving. Either way, there is no point in chucking anything away. If you don’t want or do not need anything you have nothing to lose by giving it away to friends and family.

2. Donate
Another great way to save waste whilst doing a very good deed is to donate your unwanted bags of items to your local charity shop. Charity shops are everywhere and they are always in need of anything. So do a good thing and donate it to a good cause.

3. Sell it
If you really need the money, another thing you could do with your unwanted belongings is to hold a sale and sell it. You can make some extra money that way whilst clearing out at the same time.

4. Recycle
Or you can actually take it to recycle bins and recycle it properly. For instance, you might have garden waste, perhaps scrap metal, etc. So you could recycle them in proper recycling bins. This would be a very good deed and a very good thing for your planet.

5. Make use of some items
If you have old socks full of holes, for example, you could also use them for your actual move. They would make great packaging. So if you have valuable items and so on, you could wrap them in socks for protection. Socks aren’t the only items you could put to good use for your move. You’d be amazed at how much around your home would come in useful for a move.

6. Donate books to a library
If you have stacks of unwanted books, you could donate them to your local library. Most libraries usually accept donations. However if not, you could also donate them to a care home or to a charity shop too.  It’s up to you.

As you can see clearly, there are loads of ways you can have a clearout that is eco friendly. Just make sure you don’t throw anything away because that would indeed be a waste and definitely not an eco friendly move for sure. The great thing is, moving house can be easy and enjoyable and you can save loads of money by having a good clearout because you won’t have to pay out for the extra space. There are so many benefits to doing so, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Give your stuff away, donate it, sell it or put them in recycling bins.
