Have you ever felt that your home is growing stale? No, no – not because of any particular smell or mould creeping around the walls. Is your life feeling monotonous, repeating the same routine over and over again, day in and day out? If that is the case, then this means you are not a fan of settling down. You have the free spirit of the adventurer and need to make use of your time. Every now and then you find yourself in a new place, and that new place is good for living in only until you have fully explored it and it has nothing else to offer – this is what you need right now.
You need to move at least five times in your life because of all the experiences it will bring. Immediately settling in the first place your moving van drops you off at removes all possibilities of adventure and sets your future in the stony surface of daily routines. There is a reason why people who still live in their mom and dad’s house rarely prosper. They refuse to move away from the staleness and replace prosperity with convenience. And even after you move out and rent a flat somewhere in a new city, eventually you grow tired of that city, but decide to stay there because that is where you work – at some point it again becomes the argument of convenience versus excitement. So if your boss comes to you and offers you a job at a branch of the company in a different city, you need to take that job. Immediately start making plans with the removal company and make that moving checklist. Any stress that you might gather with the relocation will be forgotten in the excitement of your move.
Each new relocation is a new experience, and you should experience all you can before you finally settle down. And you should settle down only after you are tired of all the moving about and can no longer handle the trips and the getting used to new lifestyles. But you should definitely try a bit of everything during your lifetime, and that includes all the various lifestyles. The last time you move, the time when you mean to settle, should be after you have seen everything you wish to see and make a choice where you want to stay. And moving house does not necessarily mean from one point of London to another, or to another UK city. You can move to another country, and try different countries as well. If the UK’s sophistication is not for you, then how about giving peaceful Germany a go? Or trying something more exotic, like Mexico or Brazil? Go east, and visit the Asian countries, they can offer you a multitude of lifestyles as well – from the cold sites of urban Russia to the wilder Middle East, and all the way to the restless China and the innovative and industrial Japan.
There is so much to see and experience around the world, so why settle at the first, or second, or even third convenient location your moving van takes you to? Even if you do want to settle, make that choice only after you have a few options to choose from. There is a whole world out there and you have barely witnessed a small, miniscule part of it. Explore at least a bit more before choosing to stay somewhere. Don’t buy apartments, rent again and again, and when you are satisfied with what you see and when you feel that you have done your globetrotting duty that you have to yourself, only then do you open the real estate page and look at the buyer’s market.
